Scanning and bar Coding to improve customer feedback
A little used feature of Kyozou is the ability to import and scan out sold items through the use of bar coding to improve DSR’s.
This full functioning feature is available to all Kyozou customers and Amy Joyner of “The Online Millionaire” book fame has written about this best kept secret in her book on pages 44-45.
So why do more business not take advantage of this type of built-in business automation?

Sales of iPhones are soaring, are sales from iPhones doing the same?
Some 20 million iPhones were sold since its launch in late 2007. The iPhone has covered nearly every strategy in cell phone and PDA marketing and has not only become a status symbol but an incredible productivity tool. The iPhone looks like the perfect companion for today’s fast-paced, multi-tasked world –a world considered science-fiction not so long ago. Nowadays, we can accomplish much more with much less time, energy, and interaction.
Apple Inc’s iPhone has swept the world with its easy-to-use interface and do-what-you-want capabilities. Although it is a given that PDA’s and smartphones have existed for quite some time; however such devices have typically been specifically-targeted business instruments – until now.
With the induction of the iPhone into mainstream culture, the typical user will invariably contract one of two conditions: Aptly named, these are the “I wonder if I could…” and the “Whoa! I didn’t know I could…” effects. Essentially, the average iPhone user is always looking to perform more tasks with their device. To online merchants, this begs the question: “Are people now buying more online with their iPhones?” To clarify, the iPhone in many ways is a hybrid between a mobile device and a PC. Conversely, its browser can easily display any (non Flash) web sites in their natural form without the need for customizing the site. Another interesting feature is the ability to install a client application or “app” for a dedicated website. eBay and PayPal have long ago published free applications for shopping and making payments online. Other key players will follow.
It looks like more and more transactions are happening from the palm of your hand – but not like the good old days where that involved pulling out your wallet. Trends show that today, many online purchases are being made from mobile browsers and some merchants are taking the hint early. A few to note would be Amazon with its mobile shopping site, and Yahoo’s phone-friendly interface. With more of these shopping options sprouting daily, the time to act is now.
Although it’s understandable that a web site will never offer as much user-friendliness on a mobile device as a regular computer, it’s the freedom and convenience that phone users are tapping into for shopping online. The ability to shop and buy from anywhere has never been this easy. Bottom-line, to stay competitive, all online merchants must look into the idea of “mobilizing” their online presence to make themselves better accessible to those who shop and buy while on-the-run with their iPhones. Whether you go as far as building your own iPhone app, or make the minor changes required to enhance the iPhone experience, it may well be worth your while to recognize this new and expanding mobile buyer market.

In three years desktops will be irrelevant – Google sales chief
How relevant are the comments penned here by John Kennedy of Silicon Republic about Google customers and how they are the value of a company combining with employees in the wireless world.
I like the way John Herlihy of Google states “Customers today have more choices and are more aware of our competitors’ offerings. Unless we can serve them 24/7, 365 days a year, competitors will eat our lunch”.
Do you find this is true today or starting to become more real in your daily business life?

Why Saying YES is Always More Dangerous Than NO – Tom Sant
A few years ago after becoming a convert to Tom Sant’s ideology after reading his first book “Persuasive Business Proposals”, I was fortunate to be asked to participate with him in a webinar illustrating how effective persuasive proposals can be used at every step of the sales process, not simply waiting till the close. You can catch his words “Messages That Matter”, and I would recommend that your time will always be well invested.
You may also like to read another of his books, “The Giants of Sales“, which takes a look at some of the most famous sales names in the past century. Tom looks at their success and captures the essence of their success in this interesting read. Enjoy!

Google Buzz – what it might mean for you and social networking
Having recently signed onto Google Buzz, and I have also been involved with a trial of Google Wave too, I was looking to find out how I might leverage the opportunity of Google Buzz without creating too much extra work. Currently I have a presence on Facebook and LinkedIn and find these two networks give me great feed back on my circle of friends while still allowing me to lead a life away from a computer.
This said I was pleasantly surprised when I found the following discussion in my Google Buzz this morning and thought I would share it as it clearly explains the opportunity for Buzz; Michelle – many thanks for taking the time to inform me.
